BAJO GUADALQUIVIR AREA

Chipiona.

Chipiona is just 4 kilometres away from Costa Ballena and has many tourist attractions such as its LIGHTHOUSE, which reaches the height of 80 metres and is the highest in Spain, the third in Europe and the fifth in the world. From this viewpoint, you can make out excellent views of the Atlantic Ocean, the National Park of Doñana and the Sanctuary of Regla. One should also emphasise the fishing corrals, flower fields and gastronomy found in this area.

Sanlúcar de Barrameda.

Sanlúcar de Barrameda is located 10 kilometres away from Costa Ballena. There, tourists can contemplate the mouth of the Guadalquivir River; navigable up to Seville, the National Park of DOÑANA, its palaces, churches and castle that make Sanlúcar a wonderful place for visitors. Without a doubt it is the town with the most Andalusian flavour in the area. Gastronomy, such as the popular Manzanilla and Tapas, its Gabildo square, its fishing port, its boisterous wholesale market, its street atmosphere and also its horse racing on the strand in August, encourages one to prolong ones stay in the Delta of the Guadalquivir.
